Marcus Meinhardt

Born in 1975 in Belzig, Brandenburg, Marcus Meinhardt developed his career in Germany before settling in Berlin, where he established himself on the local electronic scene. His work sits between tech-house, house and techno, featuring a groove-oriented approach, supple rhythms and production that favors dancefloor effectiveness without tipping into an overly abrasive aesthetic. Meinhardt released his first tracks in the mid-2000s and co-founded the Berlin label Upon.You in 2007 with Marco Resmann and Hawks, at a time marked by the rise of minimal, melodic house in the city. In 2012 he also launched his own label, Heinz Music. On the discography side, he released the album Barfuss Oder Lackschuh in 2009 and followed with several EPs and singles, including Paper Plane and Buenaz Nochez (2007), Checkpot (2012), Eden Garden (2013), Belvedere (2013) and Dolly (2014). Anchored in Berlin’s nightlife, Marcus Meinhardt is also associated with Kater Blau, where he is a resident.
