Midas 104

Born in Berlin, Midas 104, also known as Willi Schumacher, initially developed a practice rooted in hip-hop beats and songwriting before turning to house. His work belongs to club-oriented electronic music centered on deep house, featuring smooth, melodic productions that progress steadily — poised between a restrained Berlin aesthetic and a more narrative format for the dancefloor. Close to the Kater scene, where he also worked during the Kater Holzig era, Midas 104 released his first tracks in the early 2010s, notably the EP Don’t Worry (2013) with Joshua Jesse on Katermukke, followed by Impuls the same year on Einmusika Recordings. His discography then grew across Katermukke, URSL, Get Physical Music and Monaberry, with releases such as Eos (2014), Humming Top (2015), Sexual Distortion (2017), Umweg (2018), EGO (2019) and Wilmas Traum (2022) with T.M.A. Alongside his releases, Midas 104 performs DJ sets and live shows on Berlin club stages like Kater Blau, Ritter Butzke, Watergate and Wilde Renate, as well as at festivals such as Fusion and Ikarus.
