Britta Arnold

Born in 1984 and originally from East Berlin, Britta Arnold is part of the city’s electronic scene at the crossroads of techno and a minimalist house connected to its club culture. She began producing in 2006 and joined the collective around Bar 25 — a central hub of that scene — where she also participated in the affiliated label before developing her career as a DJ. After Bar 25 closed, she continued on in its successor projects, first Kater Holzig and then Kater Blau, two venues with which her name remains closely associated. Both her sets and productions follow a flexible, progressive electronic aesthetic tailored for the club: extended structures, pronounced grooves and a taste for hypnotic atmospheres without tipping into abrasive techno. Over the years Britta Arnold has also performed at festivals such as SonneMondSterne, Electro Magnetic, Rock am Ring and Rock’n’Heim, and released some of her tracks on Katermukke, a Berlin label linked to this artistic milieu.
