Maduk

Under the name Maduk, Mark van der Schoot has developed in the Netherlands a body of work focused on melodic, luminous drum and bass closely tied to the liquid aesthetic, with tracks built around airy pads, supple bass lines and often vocal-led writing. Active since 2011, Maduk first drew attention through a series of releases within the European drum and bass circuit before putting out records on several established scene labels, including Hospital Records, Liquicity Records, Viper Recordings and Fokuz Recordings. His trajectory is also linked to Liquicity, a structure he co-founded with Maris Goudzwaard that helped establish a meeting point between releases, events and online culture around an accessible, melodic branch of the genre. Maduk released the album Never Give Up in 2016 on Hospital Records, a significant milestone in a discography that continues to pursue an approach balancing club energy, a sense of progression and atmospheric textures. Alongside his productions, Maduk regularly plays stages dedicated to drum and bass and specialized festivals, in a register that combines mixing efficiency with a search for melodic clarity.
