Lindsay Ell
Born in Calgary, Canada, Lindsay Ell developed early on a guitar style steeped in blues and rock, which she gradually steered toward Nashville country. After a first Canadian album, Consider This (2008), Ell moved to the United States, immersed herself in the Nashville scene, and refined a repertoire at the crossroads of modern country, pop, and country rock, driven by melodic guitar riffs and songwriting focused on relationships and introspection. Noticed in particular while touring alongside Randy Bachman, Ell went on to rack up opening slots and festival appearances across North America before releasing the EP Worth the Wait (2017) and then The Project (2017), which firmly established her in the contemporary country landscape. She followed with The Continuum Project (2018), a studio reinterpretation of an album that shaped her development as a guitarist, and Heart Theory (2020), where she explored more personal themes within a country-pop framework with a modern sound. Between one-off collaborations — including a noteworthy duet with Brantley Gilbert — and regular appearances on club, arena, and televised stages, Lindsay Ell has asserted herself as a musician for whom the instrumental dimension holds a central place within a song format aimed at a wide country audience.
