Jungle Rot
Founded in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 1992 around singer-guitarist Dave Matrise, Jungle Rot developed a direct American death metal rooted in an old-school approach where death's brutality, thrash's nervous energy, and heavy grooves intersect. After an early period marked by Skin the Living (1996) and Slaughter the Weak (1997), Jungle Rot established itself on the underground circuit with Dead and Buried (2001), War Zone (2006) and What Horrors Await (2009). The lineup has remained centered on Dave Matrise despite several personnel changes; the band favors tight songs, compact riffs, martial rhythms and a rough vocal style, far from technical or atmospheric death metal. Long present on the American and European metal scenes, Jungle Rot continued this trajectory with Terror Regime (2013), Order Shall Prevail (2015) and the album Jungle Rot (2018).
