Kingcrow

Formed in Anguillara Sabazia, near Rome, Kingcrow has since the late 1990s developed a crossing between progressive rock, progressive metal and hard rock, with a writing that blends melodic tension, narrative formats and dark atmospheres. Born around the Cafolla brothers, Diego and Manuel Cafolla, the band began in a register more marked by classic heavy metal before gradually steering its sound toward longer and more structured compositions. This evolution took shape with Something Unknown in 2001, followed by Insider in 2004 and Timetropia in 2006, three albums that established for Kingcrow a taste for concept-driven records. The subsequent years refined this language further, with Phlegethon in 2010, In Crescendo in 2013, Eidos in 2015, The Persistence in 2018 and Hopium in 2024. Through lineup changes, Kingcrow stabilized around a quintet led by Diego Cafolla, Ivan Nastasi, Diego Marchesi, Riccardo Nifosí and Manuel Cafolla. On stage, Kingcrow has roamed between metal festivals and progressive events in Europe and North America, notably alongside Redemption, Jon Oliva’s Pain and Pain of Salvation. Kingcrow’s music rests on a balance between dense guitars, atmospheric passages, expressive singing and progressive construction without permanent showing off.
