Ingested

Active since the mid-2000s, Ingested is part of Manchester’s extreme death metal scene in the UK, crafting a brutal death sound tinged with slam and deathcore. Formed around Jason Evans, Sean Hynes and Lyn Jeffs, the band first emerged on the British underground circuit before undertaking numerous European and North American tours alongside other extreme acts. Ingested’s debut album, Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering (2009), established a sound built on massive riffs, staccato rhythms and a very upfront growl, soon followed by The Architect of Extinction (2015) and The Level Above Human (2018), which refined a more technical approach while retaining a slam foundation. With Where Only Gods May Tread (2020) and a complete reworking of The Surreption as The Surreption II (2021), Ingested reinforced a style that mixes brutality, heavy groove and more atmospheric passages. The album Ashes Lie Still, released in 2022, marked a further step in integrating melodies and dark atmospheres into the trio’s death metal framework while preserving the aggressive identity that defines Ingested both on stage and in the studio.
