Home Free
Formed in Mankato, Minnesota, Home Free has been developing a country a cappella approach since 2001 based on vocal harmonies, a very low bass and vocal percussion. Originally active as a touring live group across the U.S., Home Free went through several lineup changes before adopting a more clearly country sound in the early 2010s, notably with the arrival of Tim Foust and later Austin Brown. That shift reached a national audience when Home Free won season 4 of The Sing‑Off in 2013. The band’s discography mixes originals, covers and themed albums, including Crazy Life (2014), Country Evolution (2015), Timeless (2017), Dive Bar Saints (2019), So Long Dixie (2022), As Seen on TV (2023), and Crazy(er) Life and Any Kind of Christmas (2024). Home Free’s style remains rooted in contemporary country while incorporating, depending on the project, elements of gospel, folk, pop and holiday repertoire — always in an entirely vocal format. Over the years they have also worked with Kenny Rogers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Don McLean and Peter Hollens. Since 2024 the lineup comprises Adam Rupp, Rob Lundquist, Tim Foust, Adam Chance and Adam Bell‑Bastien.
