Hellogoodbye
Formed in the early 2000s in Huntington Beach, California, Hellogoodbye began within the American pop-punk and emo scenes before gradually moving toward a more melodic indie pop. Led by singer-songwriter Forrest Kline, around whom the lineup rotated, Hellogoodbye drew attention with a self-titled debut EP in 2004 that combined fast guitars, bright keyboards and sing-along choruses. This electronic-tinged pop writing continued on the album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! (2006), then shifted to a more organic sound focused on guitar arrangements on Would It Kill You? (2010). With Everything Is Debatable (2013) and S’Only Natural (2018), Hellogoodbye emphasized the indie-pop hues, highlighting vocal harmonies, relaxed tempos and a warmer approach to sonic textures. Present on club stages, festivals and on tours across North America and Europe, Hellogoodbye has established itself as a project at the crossroads of the enthusiastic pop of the 2000s and a more introspective songwriting developed across its albums.
