He Is Legend

Formed in Wilmington, North Carolina, in the early 2000s, He Is Legend first developed in the wake of the American post-hardcore and metalcore scene, before gradually widening its sound toward a heavier hard rock, traversed by alternative metal, sludge and stoner rock. The band, from the outset led by Schuylar Croom together with Adam Tanbouz and Matty Williams, released its first EP, 91025, in 2004, followed by the album I Am Hollywood the same year, then Suck Out the Poison in 2006 and It Hates You in 2009. After a period of hiatus at the end of the 2000s, He Is Legend resumed activity at the beginning of the next decade and stabilized a formula where massive riffs, dynamic shifts and a voice capable of alternating abrasive tension and more melodic lines take precedence over the metalcore reflexes of the early days. This evolution is heard notably on Heavy Fruit in 2014, Few in 2017, White Bat in 2019 and Endless Hallway in 2022. Over the years, He Is Legend has toured in the United States and Europe, shared the bill with bands from metal, hardcore and heavy rock, and preserved a distinct identity at the crossroads between post-hardcore energy, southern groove and metallic density.
