Gabry Ponte
Born in Turin in 1973, Gabry Ponte emerged in the late 1990s as a co-founder of Eiffel 65 alongside Jeffrey Jey and Maurizio Lobina. The group operated within an eurodance/italo-dance framework that blended pop choruses, club rhythms and direct electronic production. After the initial phase marked by the international success of Blue (Da Ba Dee), Gabry Ponte pursued a parallel and later solo career focused on mainstream dance, spanning italo dance, electro house and more radio-friendly formats. His early solo milestones include the album Gabry Ponte (2002), Dr. Jekyll & Mr. DJ (2004) and Gabry2o (2008), with tracks such as Geordie, Time to Rock and La danza delle streghe. In 2005 he left Eiffel 65 to concentrate on his own projects and in 2006 founded the label Dance and Love. His discography expanded through productions and collaborations with artists like Pitbull, Aloe Blacc, LUM!X, Prezioso, R3HAB and Timmy Trumpet, in a melodic, festive dance aesthetic tailored for clubs and European festivals. In 2025 Gabry Ponte represented San Marino at Eurovision with Tutta l’Italia, extending a presence that has been visible in European electronic pop from the 2000s to the present.
