Folk Bitch Trio
Formed in Melbourne in 2020, Folk Bitch Trio brings together three Australian voices in a sound positioned between indie folk and indie rock, characterized by acoustic songwriting, tight harmonies and a frequently direct tone. The band first attracted attention with the single "Houselights" in 2020, before releasing a split with Bones and Jones in 2022, "Friendly Neighbor/If I Was a Man", which placed the trio within the young Australian independent scene. In 2023 they followed with "Analogue" and "I Heard", and in 2024 with "God’s a Different Sword", honing a restrained folk-pop aesthetic focused on vocal arrangements and compositions that retain a rock tension while staying in an intimate format. The group signed to Jagjaguwar in 2025 and released their debut album Now Would Be a Good Time on 25 July 2025. From the start, Folk Bitch Trio has developed a sound both stripped-back and melodic, built around the trio’s collective work and a songcraft rooted in Melbourne’s musical context.
