Feed Me

Born in Hertfordshire, England, Jonathan Gooch developed Feed Me in the late 2000s as the electro house and dubstep facet of his work, alongside Spor, who was already established in drum and bass. The project took shape with The Spell / Raw Chicken in 2008, followed by the EPs Feed Me’s Big Adventure (2010), To the Stars (2011) and Feed Me’s Escape From Electric Mountain (2012), initially around a highly detailed electronic sound that blended bass music, progressive house, acidic melodies and kinetic rhythms. Feed Me then circulated between club scenes, electronic festivals and releases on mau5trap, while maintaining links with other spheres of British electronic music. Jon Gooch notably collaborated with Crystal Fighters on Love Is All I Got (2012) and with Kill the Noise on Far Away (2014), while also signing remixes for Robyn, Gorillaz, Depeche Mode or deadmau5. In 2013, he launched his label Sotto Voce and released Calamari Tuesday, Feed Me’s first album, followed by High Street Creeps in 2019 and then Feed Me in 2021. Feed Me’s music has since alternated between very upfront dancefloor-oriented tracks and more melodic formats, with a constant taste for contrasts between abrasive textures, singing synth lines and narrative-like constructions.
