Eivør
Born in Syðrugøta in the Faroe Islands, Eivør Pálsdóttir has, since the late 1990s, built a career at the intersection of Nordic folk, pop, jazz, rock and often restrained electronic textures. After beginning to sing at a very young age, she joined the band Clickhaze as a teenager and launched her solo career with Eivør Pálsdóttir in 2000. She later moved to Reykjavík to study music and also sang with the jazz collective Yggdrasil, which informed part of her songwriting—attentive to both traditional melodies and more contemporary forms. Her discography shows steady evolution, from Krákan (2003) and Eivør (2004) to Mannabarn (2007), produced by Dónal Lunny, and then toward more English-language material and broader production on Larva (2010), The Room (2012), Bridges (2015), Slør (2015), Segl (2020) and Enn (2024). Eivør sings in Faroese, English and Icelandic, delivering performances that blend traditional vocal styles, pop songwriting and atmospheric soundscapes across folk and Nordic stages as well as at more cross-genre festivals.
