Serenity

Formed in the Austrian Tyrol in the early 2000s, Serenity operates in a symphonic power metal register that blends melodic guitars, punchy rhythms, orchestral arrangements, and touches of progressive metal. After an initial phase around 2001, the band stabilizes in 2004 with the arrival of singer Georg Neuhauser, who becomes one of the central voices of its identity. Serenity first becomes known through the demos Starseed V.R. in 2002 and Engraved Within in 2005, before releasing a series of albums on Napalm Records: Words Untold & Dreams Unlived in 2007, Fallen Sanctuary in 2008, Death & Legacy in 2011, War of Ages in 2013, Codex Atlanticus in 2016, Lionheart in 2017, The Last Knight in 2020 and Nemesis AD in 2023. Serenity's lyrics often rely on historical figures and events, from Marco Polo to Beethoven through Napoleon or Maximilian I, which gives their repertoire a recurring narrative dimension. Over the years, the band has undergone several lineup changes, notably with Fabio D’Amore on bass from 2010, Christian Hermsdörfer on guitar since 2015 and Marco Pastorino more recently. Serenity has also toured on the European metal scene alongside bands such as Kamelot, Threshold, Delain, Xandria or Within Temptation, in a live format that prolongs its balance between power, clear choruses, and orchestration.
