Flosstradamus

Born in Chicago, Flosstradamus originally took the form of a duo made up of Curt Cameruci and Josh Young, active from the mid-2000s in a crossover of electronic trap, hip-hop and rhythm-driven club music. The project first gained attention through remixes and mixtapes, then with a series of EPs released on labels like Fool’s Gold and Mad Decent, including Jubilation (2011), Total Recall (2012), Jubilation 2.0 (2012) and Nomads (2013) with DJ Sliink. In the 2010s Flosstradamus became a fixture on North American festival and club stages with a direct sound built on massive bass, motifs drawn from Southern rap and an energy tailored for live performance. The name also spread through collaborations with A-Trak, Diplo, Travis Porter, Waka Flocka Flame, Yellow Claw and Dillon Francis, and through tracks such as TTU (2014), Came Up (2016) and Back Again (2017). Since the duo’s split announced at the end of 2016, Josh Young has continued as YehMe2, while Curt Cameruci has carried on alone under the Flosstradamus name, preserving the trap- and hip-hop-oriented aesthetic aimed at large-scale shows.
