Dami Im

Born in Seoul in 1988 and moved to Australia at age nine, Dami Im grew up in Brisbane with a solid musical education, first in piano and later in singing. Before her media breakthrough she worked within gospel and Christian music, releasing her first album, Dream, in 2010 in South Korea. Her career shifted in 2013 when she won The X Factor Australia, the starting point of a pop trajectory nourished by R&B, soul and a vocal technique drawn both from gospel and her musical studies. Dami Im then released Dami Im (2013), Heart Beats (2014) and Classic Carpenters (2016), a covers album that highlights her taste for classic pop melodies. That same year she represented Australia at Eurovision with 'Sound of Silence' and finished second, significantly raising her profile outside Australia. After I Hear a Song in 2018 she left Sony Music Australia and pursued more personal work, first independently and later with ABC Music, issuing My Reality in 2021. In her recordings and on stage, Dami Im crafts a precise vocal pop, often piano‑centred, situated between ballad, contemporary soul and more introspective songwriting.
