Eisbrecher
Born in Fürstenfeldbruck, Bavaria, in the early 2000s, Eisbrecher was formed around Alexx Wesselsky and Noel Pix after their stint in Megaherz. The project belongs to the Neue Deutsche Härte movement, at the crossroads of industrial metal, industrial rock and cold electronics, characterized by heavy guitars, mechanical rhythms and German vocals with a direct phrasing. After a self-titled debut in 2004, Eisbrecher refined its identity on Antikörper (2006), Sünde (2008) and Eiszeit (2010), and continued with Die Hölle muss warten (2012), Schock (2015), Sturmfahrt (2017), the covers album Schicksalsmelodien (2020) and Liebe macht Monster (2021). On stage, Eisbrecher moves between metal festivals and gothic or alternative venues, from Wave-Gotik-Treffen and M’era Luna to Hellfest, while building a steady presence in Germany and several European countries. The band’s history is also marked by lineup changes, with long-term members such as Jürgen Plangger, Achim Färber and Rupert Keplinger joining the core, and the departure of co-founder Noel Pix in 2024. Around Alexx Wesselsky, Eisbrecher maintains a songwriting approach focused on rhythmic impact, tight choruses and a clear industrial aesthetic.
