Kellermensch

Formed in 2006 in Esbjerg, Denmark, Kellermensch follows the lineage of the metal group Brudevalsen before clearly broadening its language toward dark, tense, and theatrical rock, at the crossroads of post-punk, noise rock, metal, and a form of cabaret rock. The collective, organized around several musicians and enriched live by instruments such as violin or keyboards, builds a dense sound where abrasive guitars, heavy rhythms, vocals alternating raw intensity and more settled lines, and dramatic atmospheres coexist without affectation. Kellermensch released a self-titled debut album in 2009, followed by the Narcissus EP in 2010, then an international edition published in 2011 combining tracks from the first album and the EP. The group then develops its trajectory on stage, with appearances at the SPOT Festival, Roskilde, as well as dates in Germany and showcases in Berlin and Groningen. After a period of work on new material, Kellermensch returns with Goliath in 2017, then Capitulism in 2022, confirming a broader writing, still marked by contrasts between rock tension, metallic textures, and dark melodies.
