Magnus Carlsson
Born in 1974 in Fristad, in the municipality of Borås, Sweden, Magnus Carlsson has built a career spanning dansband, pop, disco and schlager, with a voice associated both with the Scandinavian ballroom repertoire and with more festive, melodic pop. Magnus Carlsson co-founded Barbados in 1992 and became one of the group's faces during the 1990s and the early 2000s, a period in which the band established itself on the Swedish dansband scene and took part in several editions of Melodifestivalen. After leaving Barbados, he joined Alcazar at the end of 2002, contributing his vocals to the group's disco-pop aesthetic until 2005. He then launched a solo career that extended this crossover between schlager, orchestral pop and disco, notably with the albums Magnus Carlsson and Spår i snön (2006), Live Forever - The Album (2007), Pop Galaxy (2010), Gamla Stan (2015) and Atmosphere (2021). A long-standing presence in Swedish television, Magnus Carlsson has also participated in Melodifestivalen several times as a solo artist with songs such as "Lev livet!", "Live Forever" and "Möt mig i Gamla stan", confirming a trajectory that links Swedish popular song, mainstream formats and festive culture.
