Jessica Andersson

Born in Spånga in the Stockholm area and associated with Trollhättan, Jessica Andersson rose to prominence in Swedish pop in the early 2000s with a style that blends popular song, Nordic schlager and radio‑friendly ballads. She first emerged in 2002 on the TV show Fame Factory before forming the duo Fame with Magnus Bäcklund, which remained active until 2006. The pair represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 with “Give Me Your Love”, a track also included on the album Give Me Your Love released that year. Afterward, Jessica Andersson pursued a solo career, appearing several times at Melodifestivalen with entries such as “Kalla nätter” (2006), “Kom” (2007), “I Did It for Love” (2010), “Can’t Hurt Me Now” (2015) and “Horizon” (2021). Her solo discography centers on three studio albums—Wake Up (2009), 40.14.4 (2013) and Perfect Now (2015)—where she develops a more personal pop songwriting while remaining faithful to a clear, melodic and direct aesthetic. Alongside her music career she has also worked on stage, notably in the musical Little Shop of Horrors in Halmstad.
