Marie Jay
Part of the new francophone pop wave, Marie Jay combines a direct look at her generation with a deliberate play on the codes of femininity, glamour and staging. Her music is rooted in French-language pop and crossed by electropop and intimate songwriting, alternating driving rhythms, sparser moods and lyrics focused on emotions, relationships and vulnerability. The track "sparadrap" exemplifies this tension between immediate energy and embraced fragility, with a straightforward melodic approach and lyrics kept in the foreground. In 2024 Marie Jay released her first EP, "Trotinette", which establishes an aesthetic of clear synthetic productions, accessible pop structures and a vividly embodied narrative, confirming her place in the current francophone scene. Since the release she has multiplied concerts in France and Switzerland, appearing at festivals and discovery platforms such as the Printemps de Bourges, and has developed a live show where highly physical moments coexist with near-spoken, more intimate passages.
