Pa Sheehy
Born in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland, Pa Sheehy first built his career as the lead singer of Walking on Cars, a band he toured with across Ireland and Europe until the project split in 2020. Initially releasing music under his full name Patrick Sheehy and later as Pa Sheehy, he embarked on a solo path in indie pop characterized by direct songwriting, crisp melodies and a vocal-centered delivery. In June 2021 he released the single "Saw You at a Funeral", followed by "Róisín" in August the same year; both tracks accompanied the launch of his first EP, The Art of Disappearing, in September 2021. The shift from a band format to a more personal approach refocused Sheehy’s work on the songs themselves and on understated pop arrangements, while retaining the melodic background of his early work. In October 2024 Pa Sheehy released his debut album, Maybe It Was All For This, marking a new stage in the solo trajectory he began after Walking on Cars.
