Red Warszawa
Formed in Copenhagen in 1986, Red Warszawa belongs to the Danish metal scene, blending heavy metal, thrash and punk with an openly comic register. Built around vocalist Lækre Jens Mondrup and guitarist Heavy Henning Nymand Jensen, the band writes songs in Danish in which absurd humour, provocation and deliberately crude language occupy a central place. Red Warszawa released its debut album, “Hævi Mætal og Hass”, in 1991, followed by “Skal Vi Lege Doktor?” in 1994, which further established this parodic aesthetic applied to traditional metal codes. The discography continued with “Tysk Hudindustri” (1998), “Omvendt Blodsugning” (2000) and “Return of the Glidefedt” (2004), marking a continuity of a direct sound with fast tempos and simple riffs. With “De 4 Årstider I Nordvest” (2010) and “Lækre Til Ekstrem” (2014), Red Warszawa maintained this satirical and coarse approach, favouring a group energy focused on interaction with audiences in venues and metal festivals in Denmark and neighbouring countries.
