Buscabulla
Born from the meeting of Raquel Berrios and Luis Alfredo del Valle, Buscabulla links Puerto Rico, where both members grew up, with Brooklyn, where the project took shape in the early 2010s. The duo crafts Spanish-language alternative pop that blends synth-pop, dream pop, slowed disco and Caribbean rhythms, with particular attention to electronic textures and supple melodies. Buscabulla first drew attention through a series of singles and the EP Buscabulla in 2014, then refined its identity with EP II in 2017, a broader record where intimacy, dance and references to Puerto Rican culture coexist. Situated at the crossroads of the indie scene and alternative Latin music, their songs often take on a minimalist form carried by Raquel Berrios’s voice and arrangements that avoid excess. With Regresa in 2020, Buscabulla further centered its focus on the tie to Puerto Rico, movement and return, in melancholic and sensual pop writing. In 2022 they also appeared alongside Bad Bunny on the track “Andrea,” placing the duo in a wider dialogue between independent pop and the contemporary Latino scene.
