Juliette Magnevasoa

Adopted as a child and linked to Madagascar through her family history, Juliette Magnevasoa develops writing and singing that make intimate storytelling, movement and anchoring dialog. Based in the Southwest, she has long frequented regional stages, notably within the duo Pauline & Juliette, active for nearly ten years in a chanson repertoire carried by voices and guitar. Her solo path extends this acoustic base by opening it up to more diverse colors, between French chanson, folk and pop touches with contours sometimes soulful. In 2024, Juliette Magnevasoa meets BlackJoy, from the label Les Rythmes Ruban, then collaborates with Blundetto on the single "La Playa". In July 2025, Routines appears, a collection of nine covers produced by Les Rythmes Ruban, built from songs she regularly reinterpret in her daily guitar-and-voice work. It bears traces of a universe nourished by varied repertoires, from Francophone chanson to Anglo-Saxon folk. On stage as in her compositions, Juliette Magnevasoa favors a direct form, centered on the voice, presence and the setting to music of a personal material, with particular attention paid to interpretation and audience reception.
