Death in Vegas

Born in London in the mid-1990s around Richard Fearless, Death in Vegas began as a duo before evolving into a more flexible project situated between rock and electronic music. They emerged on the British scene with a sound that mixed big beat, trip-hop, dub, psychedelia and post-punk tension—first on Dead Elvis (1997), then on The Contino Sessions (1999), where voices and guest artists became more prominent. Richard Fearless developed an aesthetic based on club rhythms, rough guitars, repetitive loops and dark atmospheres drawn from krautrock and experimental rock. Collaborations with Iggy Pop, Bobby Gillespie, Hope Sandoval and Liam Gallagher accompanied this path, bridging DJ culture, studio work and independent rock stages. Scorpio Rising (2002) extended the crossover between electronic music, motorik rock and psychedelia, while Satan's Circus (2004) steered Death in Vegas toward a more overtly techno and acid approach. After a period of more sporadic activity, Death in Vegas returned with Trans-Love Energies (2011) and Transmission (2016), still driven by Richard Fearless.
