Gregor Meyle

Born in 1978 in Backnang in southern Germany, Gregor Meyle has built a career as a singer-songwriter rooted in German guitar-driven pop songs, blending acoustic folk, ballads and light soul influences. He first drew attention in 2007 by taking part in the casting music show created by Stefan Raab, which opened the door to a wider national stage and his first record deals. His debut album So soll es sein was released in 2008 and established a style centered on German-language lyrics, an intimate register and sparse arrangements based on voice, guitar and a compact band. Over successive tours Meyer developed a steady stage practice captured on several live recordings, including Meile für Meyle (2010), before broadening his palette on albums such as New York – Stintino (2016), marked by a more travel-oriented and collaborative writing approach. From 2014 his participation in the TV music show Sing meinen Song and his involvement in formats like Meylensteine increased his presence in the German media, while he has continued writing, recording and performing with his band.
