Max Mutzke
Max Mutzke, a German singer‑songwriter born in 1981 in Waldshut‑Tiengen in southern Baden‑Württemberg, rose to prominence in the mid‑2000s after winning Stefan Raab’s televised casting show. That victory paved the way for him to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song “Can’t Wait Until Tonight”. His debut album, “Max Mutzke” (2004), established an aesthetic rooted in melodic soul‑pop, infused with funk and touches of jazz, featuring an expressive vocal style often supported by acoustic band arrangements. Over the years Mutzke has developed a largely German‑language discography, alternating between chanson‑oriented projects, more pronounced jazz ventures, and collaborations with orchestral ensembles, notably the NDR Radiophilharmonie. On stage he performs regularly in Germany and the German‑speaking region — in concert halls, at festivals and on television — building a repertoire that includes soul ballads, upbeat pop numbers and orchestral reinterpretations of his songs.
