Billy Lockett

Born in Northampton, England, Billy Lockett has built from the start a songwriter’s music centered on the piano, at the crossroads of pop, folk and contemporary soul. Initially active in his hometown, he then worked the London open-mic circuit, refining a repertoire of ballads and intimate songs marked by direct, unvarnished writing. His profile grew following airplay on BBC Radio 1 and tours as a supporting act for Birdy, Lana Del Rey, KT Tunstall, Lewis Capaldi and Electric Light Orchestra, in settings ranging from acoustic pop to larger stage formats. After his father’s death, Lockett put his career on hold before returning to writing and recording with a more personal, independent approach split between Northampton and London. His discography has expanded through EPs, singles and a solo piano project, reflecting work that balances melodic sparseness, pop confession and restrained arrangements.
