Kaz Hawkins

Straddling blues, soul and gospel, Northern Ireland–based Kaz Hawkins has built a repertoire marked by personal songwriting and a stage presence centered on voice and storytelling. A native of Belfast, she first made her mark on the local scene before expanding her concert activity across the UK and later continental Europe, appearing at blues festivals such as Swing Wespelaar in Belgium. As a singer-songwriter, Kaz Hawkins moves between electric formats with a full band and more stripped-back duo or trio line-ups that foreground an expressive vocal style and a range from soul ballads to rhythm-and-blues–rooted numbers. Her often autobiographical songs address resilience, memory and intimate ruptures, situating her in a contemporary blues tradition where American influences meet Northern Irish grounding. Both live and in the studio, she blends original compositions with rearranged covers, crafting contrasting atmospheres that carry her from intimate clubs to major European stages.
