In Color
Formed in Nashville, In Color brings together Holden Clontz, Matthew Hastings, Val Hoyt, and Miles Laderman in a pop-alternative project that blends melodic refrains, textured guitars, and spacious production. The band's history is rooted in a circle of long-standing friendships between Atlanta and Nashville: Val Hoyt and Miles Laderman have known each other since middle school in Atlanta before reconnecting later at Belmont University, while Holden Clontz and Matthew Hastings formed a bond in Nashville. In Color took shape in early 2024, in the context of a snowstorm that brought its members together and solidified the idea of a band. Their aesthetic is anchored in contemporary pop rock, with dense arrangements, direct writing, and a taste for emotional crescendos without abandoning an accessible format. In Color released in 2025 the first tracks 'Headlights', 'Liar' and 'Is There Anyone?', followed by the single 'I Want You', ahead of the Snow Day EP released in the same year. Still relatively new, In Color thus develops a trajectory anchored in the Nashville scene, while presenting a sound that crosses alternative pop, melodic rock, and indie sensibility.
