Sam Drysdale

Based in Toronto, Ontario, Sam Drysdale is building a singer-songwriter repertoire where folk, Americana and acoustic pop intersect, with songwriting focused on intimate storytelling, relationships and moments of turning point. Sam Drysdale initially released music more oriented toward alternative pop before returning to a more organic, stripped-back aesthetic driven by guitars, spare melodies and a direct performance. This shift is evident on Bonnie’s Sad Songs, his third EP released in 2024, where he tightens his approach around more introspective songs and a tone more rooted in the North American folk tradition. In the wake of that record he has continued to release new singles, maintaining a line that blends pop sensibility, acoustic textures and Americana accents. His universe can evoke, by affinity, songwriters like Neil Young, John Mayer, Hozier, Dallas Green or Bruce Springsteen, but Sam Drysdale frames it in a contemporary, accessible and personal form, somewhere between confession, ballad and melodic songwriting.
