CocoRosie

At the core of the duo Cocorosie are the Casady sisters, Bianca, known as "Coco", and Sierra, known as "Rosie". Formed in 2003, Cocorosie is an experimental alternative rock group in search of distinctive sounds that the two sisters create from toys, a bathtub or other everyday noises. The Cocorosie sisters released their first album, La maison de mon rêve, in 2004, which led to them being noticed by a producer. Their hard-to-define music and distinctive look (Bianca wearing a fake mustache) began to attract press attention. Between the United States and France the duo performed numerous concerts, becoming an offbeat yet fashionable musical phenomenon. After two albums, Noah’s Ark (2005) and The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn (2007), the duo returned in 2010 with Grey Oceans, which met with modest success. Three years later Cocorosie released Tales of a GrassWidow and embarked on an extended European tour.
