Shaun Ross

Trained for five years at the Alvin Ailey School, Shaun Ross, born in New York and raised in the Bronx, first built his visibility in fashion and imagery before developing a personal musical project. His music sits within alternative pop with electronic textures, synthetic arrangements, often a measured tempo and a delivery that at times draws on R&B. Shaun Ross launched this side of his career with the single “Symmetry” in 2017, featuring backing vocals from Lizzo, then followed with “Chrysalis” in 2018 and “Good Vein” in 2019. In 2021 he released the album SHIFT on JEX Records, an important step in asserting a longer format. On stage he opened for ionnalee in Los Angeles, appeared with What So Not at the Life Is Beautiful Music & Art Festival and performed at LA Pride. His trajectory remains tied to a strong visual universe, nourished by dance, fashion, music videos and the ballroom culture between New York and Los Angeles — elements that extend Shaun Ross’s aesthetic while remaining within the frame of contemporary pop songwriting.
