Wyatt E.
Since the early 2010s in Belgium, Wyatt E. has been exploring a dark, slow doom informed by references to the ancient Near East and Mesopotamian imagery. The band centers on long, instrumental or nearly instrumental compositions, combining massive riffs, repetitive bass lines and melodic motifs drawn from Levantine traditional music, creating a weighty, hypnotic atmosphere. The first discographic milestone came with the EP Mount Sinai / As We Walk in the Absence of Gods (2015), which established Wyatt E.’s signature on the European doom and psychedelic scene, followed by the album Exile to Beyn Neharot in 2017, where the constructions became more stretched and narrative. In 2022 the record āl bēlūti dārû deepened this approach, focusing more on atmospheric transitions between ambient pads, slow percussion and saturated climaxes. Active on club and festival stages—particularly within post‑metal and doom circuits such as dunk!festival—Wyatt E. stands at the crossroads of doom, post‑rock and psychedelic music, with an identity marked by the use of oriental‑tinged modes and elongated tempos.
