Mikayla Geier
Born in Vancouver in 1999, Mikayla Geier develops an alternative pop sound with clear melodic lines, nourished by autobiographical songwriting and a very direct relationship to the body, movement and vulnerability. Before devoting herself to music, she studied ballet at the Kirov Academy in Washington and then at Indiana University Bloomington, where she also pursued studies in entrepreneurship; this training has had a lasting influence on her themes and on the way she approaches her songs. She released the EP Bloomington in 2019, the first discographic milestone of an otherwise still-intimate project, and moved to Los Angeles in 2022. Her debut album, Here We Go Again... (2024), defined her identity between alternative pop and singer‑songwriter sensitivity, with tracks such as Paris, Dance of the Trees, Here We Go Again... and I Don’t Feel Safe in My Body, some of which were produced by Joe Janiak. In 2025 Mikayla Geier followed with Piano in the Sky, Dirty Shirley, No Thoughts and Diva, before releasing Hot Pot! later that year. Since then her trajectory has combined personal songwriting, a compact pop format and activity on the North American scene, with a first tour announced for 2025 and supporting dates for Marina in the UK in 2026.
