Elias Rønnenfelt

Rooted in Copenhagen’s punk scene, Elias Rønnenfelt emerged in the early 2010s as the singer and songwriter of Iceage, where across records he crafted a universe that blends abrasive punk, dark post‑punk and increasingly melodic rock. At the same time he explored other directions with Marching Church, a project that pushed his writing toward more stretched‑out forms infused with jazz touches, gothic sonorities and a taste for improvisation, and with Vår, a group marked by industrial and cold‑wave influences. Under his own name Rønnenfelt continued this exploration with more stripped‑down songs driven by voice, lyrics and often minimalist tension, while retaining roots in post‑punk and experimental aesthetics. Active on the European and North American independent scenes and frequently invited into peers’ projects, he moves between band, collective and solo formats to continually reshape the contours of his writing and stage presence.
