Amtrac

Born in Morehead, Kentucky, as Caleb Cornett, Amtrac has since the early 2010s developed a project located at the crossroads of house, indie dance, indietronica and touches of progressive house, with a writing that blends club formats, electronic songs and more melodic textures. Based in Louisville, Amtrac first drew attention with Came Along in 2011, before gradually widening his scope through EPs, remixes and production work where dance pulses, supple bass lines, discreet vocals and precise synthetic textures coexist. His trajectory takes him as much through electronic festivals as through club tours, with appearances on stages such as Movement, Osheaga, Ultra or EDC Las Vegas. Over the years, Amtrac has also collaborated or shared releases with artists like Kaskade, Kastle, Alex Metric, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs or Anabel Englund, without abandoning a personal aesthetic, both direct and nuanced. In 2017, he launched the Openers label and notably released the EP 1987 there, then affirmed this more assertive phase with the album Oddyssey in 2020. His third album, Extra Time, appeared in 2023 and extends a sound where house remains central, but open to pop influences, breakbeat and introspective influences.
