Against The Current

Formed in the early 2010s in Poughkeepsie, New York, Against The Current is a trio consisting of singer Chrissy Costanza, guitarist Dan Gow and drummer Will Ferri. The band first gained attention by regularly posting covers and original songs online. Straddling melodic pop rock, pop punk and alternative influences, Against The Current crafts songs built around Chrissy Costanza’s prominent lead vocals, catchy choruses and driving rhythm guitars, complemented by pop and electronic textures. After self-releasing early EPs — including Infinity (2014) and Gravity (2015) — the group signed with Fueled By Ramen and issued their debut album In Our Bones in 2016, characterized by an energetic pop-rock sound. Their follow-up, Past Lives (2018), moved further toward pop-oriented songwriting and synth-driven arrangements. In 2017 the band recorded the track Legends Never Die with Riot Games for the League of Legends World Championship, a collaboration that firmly established their presence in both rock and gaming cultures. With the Fever EP (2021) Against The Current shifted to a darker, more direct sound while retaining concise, stage-ready songs, which the trio has promoted through extensive tours across North America, Europe and Asia on pop-punk and alternative rock circuits.
