Schizophrenia

Formed in Antwerp, Belgium, during the second half of the 2010s, Schizophrenia operates in a death/thrash metal register characterized by a direct and fast approach. The band develops songs built around sharp riffs, aggressive vocals and tight rhythms, drawing clearly on the old‑school aesthetic of the late 1980s and early 1990s. After a series of shows on the local metal scene and in the European club circuit, the formation released the EP Voices in 2020, which established an initial sonic identity focused on the constant tension between straightforward thrash and darker atmospheres. Schizophrenia followed in 2022 with the album Recollections of the Insane, where the band refined its writing with more developed structures, an overall high tempo and variations between fast passages and heavier sections. Active on specialized festival stages and touring alongside other extreme metal bands, Schizophrenia fits within a compact, energetic death/thrash tradition, maintaining a stable core of members that sustains this aggressive, no‑frills sound.
