Dina Summer

Based in Berlin, Dina Summer brings together the Greek singer Dina and the Local Suicide duo with Bavarian producer Kalipo, also a founding member of Frittenbude. Formed from 2019, the project sits at a crossroads between dark synth-pop, new wave, EBM, Italo disco and electroclash from the early 2000s, with club-oriented writing but carried by clear vocal lines and a retro-futuristic aesthetic. Dina Summer develops a tense and melodic sound, made of dry bass, danceable rhythms and cold synthesizers, in the continuum of certain Berlin electronic scenes while maintaining a pop sensibility. The group first released the Who Am I EP in 2021, followed by the Rimini album in 2022, and then the Hide & Seek EP in 2024. Dina Summer's trajectory has been built between discographic releases, DJ sets and live performances, on stages tied to independent electronic music, dark disco and post-punk legacies. The trio's dynamic rests on the complementarity between Kalipo's production, Local Suicide's club experience and Dina's vocal presence, which gives the project its identity.
