Shubostar

Born in South Korea and first active on Seoul’s club scene, Shubostar has developed an electronic universe centered on a kind of cosmic disco at moderate tempos, nourished by Italo, new wave and slow techno influences. Later based in Mexico before continuing her trajectory on the European scene, she has refined a style in which synthetic basses, simple melodic riffs and spatial atmospheres structure sets and productions designed for nocturnal dancing. A DJ and producer, Shubostar releases maxi singles and remixes on several independent labels while launching Uju Records, a platform that allows her to extend her aesthetic between dark disco and retro‑futuristic sounds. Her successive journeys through Asia, Latin America and then Europe are reflected in a hybrid approach that mixes club energy, synthetic melancholy and 1980s pop references. On stage, Shubostar favors progressive, narrative constructions, alternating pronounced basslines, more synth‑wave passages and techno sequences, which has led her to perform in numerous clubs and festivals across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
