Malena Zavala

Between dreamlike pop and Latin American heritage, Malena Zavala crafts an atmosphere where hazy guitars, enveloping choirs and swaying rhythms converse. Born in Argentina and based in the United Kingdom, Malena Zavala composes, produces and performs her songs in English and Spanish, blending intimate songwriting, psychedelic textures and references to South American music. Discovered in the late 2010s on London’s independent scene, she released a debut album, "Aliso", in 2018 on Yucatan Records, noted for its dream‑pop approach and minimalist arrangements. With "La Yarará" (2020), she heightened the presence of Afro‑Latin rhythms, danceable percussion and sharper guitars while maintaining melodic, introspective writing. On stage, Malena Zavala translates this studio work into varying line‑ups—from solo sets to a fuller band—and plays alternative venues, festivals and stages devoted to emerging music across the UK and Europe.
