Westerman

Westerman, a singer-songwriter from London, has established himself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary experimental pop, moving between ethereal indie-folk, introspective songwriting and airy electronic textures. Early praise from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The Guardian and NPR Music helped define his art of subtlety, where each track seems suspended in a delicate chiaroscuro, carried by a gentle voice and a keen sense of melody. After a second album co-produced with James Krivchenia of Big Thief, he continues his evolution with A Jackal’s Wedding, created alongside producer Marta Salogni, known for her work with Björk, Depeche Mode and Sharon Van Etten. Lusher and more dreamlike, the new record was tracked in a 17th-century manor on the Greek island of Hydra — an isolated setting whose raw beauty, chaos and material constraints directly infused the album’s atmosphere. Westerman further refines his songwriting here, playing with illusions, mirages and emotional shifts, confirming once again his status as a meticulous craftsman always seeking new forms to express his moods with a profoundly modern grace.
