Febueder
Formed in Ascot, Berkshire, Febueder brings together Kieran Godfrey and Sam Keysell around a songwriting approach that blends indie rock, experimental rock and oblique pop, with tracks built on shifts in rhythm, hushed textures and a voice often placed at the center of shifting arrangements. The project emerged in 2011, initially as a trio with Toby Ingram, then settled as a duo. Febueder released the single To Some to Some in 2012, followed by the EP Soap Carv in 2013 and Lilac Lane in 2014, early milestones of a universe that is at once melodic and offbeat, where one can hear as much a taste for pop structures as for freer detours. The next phase took the form of a more expansive body of work with the album Tomalin Has Etched in in 2017, followed by All Night Teeth in 2020, which extend this aesthetic between discreet art rock, irregular grooves and introspective atmospheres. Rooted in the UK indie scene without being strictly limited to it, Febueder has since developed a personal language from its beginnings, between deconstructed song, rhythmic tension and a pursuit of contrast.
