Info
On February 28, 2027, Sophia Stel brings her “The Greatest Tour of All Time” to Double Dragon in Edmonton, with a set that sits right at the intersection of alternative pop and dream-tinged electronic music. A producer and singer-songwriter from Vancouver, she builds songs around supple breakbeats, misty synth layers and melodies that flirt with fragility, distance and memory, without losing that direct, intimate pull.
First noticed for the single “ineedthat,” Sophia Stel’s writing balances tension and softness, with suspended textures and a queer sensitivity that shapes the mood as much as the lyrics. Live, her music leans into atmosphere and rhythmic ruptures, echoing the off-centre edge of the electronic pop scene she’s been part of, including sharing bills with A.G. Cook. Expect a show that moves between songcraft and sound design, in the same spirit as her EP Object Permanence: pop at the core, space around it, and a melancholic glance toward the future.
