Info
Ash comes to Berlin at Hole44 on 12 November 2026 and places their "1977 30th Anniversary Tour" at the heart of the evening. The trio from Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, has, since the early 1990s, stood for nervy, melodic rock that effortlessly blends pop-punk, alternative and power pop: short songs, rapid hooks, plenty of drive, without sounding polished. "1977" marked the big step forward in 1996—and this very album now provides the throughline for the night.
Those who know Ash live know: it’s about tempo and songwriting, about choruses that land immediately, and about guitars that push forward rather than pose. At the same time, "1977" is also tied to the band’s history, which was later continued with records such as "Nu-Clear Sounds", "Free All Angels" or "Meltdown"—and into the 2010s and 2020s with releases like "Kablammo!", "Islands" and "Race the Night" maintaining the same direct, energetic core.
