Info

For the Saturday of our 30-year anniversary weekend at Climax, we wanted to host a guest whose story has been linked with house, techno and international club culture for decades. We are therefore especially pleased to welcome Radio Slave. After Climax & Friends on Thursday and House Classics with Titi on Friday, his guest appearance will constitute the third evening of our anniversary weekend and provide a musical counterpoint to the retrospective of the previous evening. On Saturday, it will be about house and techno in a form that knows their history, but is rooted in the present.

The man behind Radio Slave is the British DJ and producer Matt Edwards. He has developed a distinctive, instantly recognizable language between house and techno: pared-down, sustained, and built for long evolutions on the dancefloor. Releases such as Bell Clap Dance, Grindhouse, and his No Sleep series are among the important milestones of his catalog. In 2006, Edwards, together with James Masters, founded the Rekids label, which over more than two decades has evolved into a solid platform for house and techno. Radio Slave has been playing on international floors for years; among the clubs he has frequented most often are Berghain and Panorama Bar in Berlin, fabric in London, and the Rex Club in Paris. In 2026 he performed at Panorama Bar, for Rekids' 20th anniversary, among other appearances.

Joining Radio Slave on this evening are two names from Climax's immediate circle: Chamelio3000 and MCG. This pairing fits the anniversary: an international guest meets DJs who know the club and its dancefloor from many nights. After 30 years, our aim is not to display club history alone. It continues to be created with the people in the room, with house and techno, and with nights that will later become part of this history themselves.

Three evenings reveal three facets of 30 years of Climax. On Thursday, we celebrated at Climax & Friends with friends and long-time companions. On Friday, House Classics traced a part of the house history that has accompanied Climax for decades. On Saturday at Climax Institutes in Stuttgart, Radio Slave closes the anniversary weekend. His work bridging house and techno, and the history of his Rekids label, form a bridge between the musical roots of club culture and its present.

Since 1996, Climax Institutes has been part of Stuttgart's electronic club culture. House, techno, and their various evolutions have shaped the club just as much as DJs, promoters, regulars, and new visitors. Awareness, respect, and mutual consideration are part of this space's ethos. After three decades, Climax on Calwer Street remains a place where electronic music, social gathering, and a thriving club culture come together.
